Get To Know Us

I've lived in the Fredericton and Oromocto area for over 30 years. I grew up here, I'm raising my family here, and my husband Kyle and I build homes here. So when someone asks me where to grab coffee, which neighbourhood fits their family, or where to take the kids on a Saturday, I actually have an answer.

This page is that answer. These are the places I send my own clients to, the spots my family actually goes, and the everyday stuff that makes settling into Fredericton, Oromocto, and the CFB Gagetown corridor feel like home a lot faster.

If you're posted to Gagetown or moving to Fredericton from out of province, save this page. It's the head start I wish every new family got.

Coffee + Breakfast

The first thing people want when they land somewhere new is a good coffee and a place that feels familiar. Start here.

  • Mill Town Roasters (King St, downtown Fredericton) — They roast their own beans, serve in real mugs, and the cinnamon buns are worth the trip.
  • MA CAFE (King St, Fredericton) — Tiny and friendly, and the owner pours your coffee in front of you. One of the highest-rated spots in the city for a reason.
  • The Tipsy Muse Cafe (Regent St, Fredericton) — My go-to when you want bagels, an Italian soda, and somewhere easy to land for an hour.
  • Boulangerie Seoul (Woodstock Rd, Fredericton) — The best pastries around. Go in the morning before the good ones sell out.

Where I'd Take You for Dinner

Whether it's a quiet weeknight or you're celebrating closing on your new place, these are the ones I recommend without hesitating.

  • 11th Mile (York St, Fredericton) — Family-run and consistently one of the best meals in the province. The gnocchi and Taco Tuesdays have a following.
  • Bam (York St, Fredericton) — Korean, newer to downtown, generous portions and the rating to back it up.
  • The Palate (Queen St, Fredericton) — The one I send people to for a nicer night out downtown.
  • Mantra (Rookwood Ave, Fredericton) — Best Indian food in Fredericton, and you can watch the curling downstairs while you eat.
  • Spicy Roots Bistro (Oromocto) — If you're on the base side, this is the spot. Great Indian, and the momos are made in house.

Family + Kids

A lot of the families I work with are moving with little ones, and the question I get most is "what do we do with the kids here?" These are the answers.

  • Kingswood Entertainment Centre (Hanwell) — Bowling, arcade, and an indoor playground. The answer to every rainy Saturday.
  • Science East (downtown Fredericton) — A hands-on science museum built inside an old jail. The under-10 crowd loves it.
  • iSPY Escape Games (Hanwell Rd, Fredericton) — A fun afternoon for older kids and teens, with a few different rooms to work through.

Getting Outside

One of the best parts of living in this area is how easy it is to get outdoors. Trails, river, parks, all of it close.

  • Odell Park (Fredericton) — A 400-year-old hemlock forest, 16 km of trails, a duck pond, and disc golf, all inside the city. This one's a gem.
  • Fredericton Botanic Garden (Prospect St) — Connected to Odell, with easy walking paths and a stroller-friendly main trail.
  • Carleton Park + the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge (Southside) — River views, ducks for the kids, and a walk across the water into downtown.
  • Angelview Park (Woodstock Rd) — Quiet river views and a great stretch for biking.

Walk-in + Health Care

  • Bowman’s Pharmacy
  • Northside Community Health Centre (Brookside Dr): Takes same-day appointments if you call first thing in the morning with an urgent concern.
  • Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre (King St): Good option for a quick online-booked appointment when you can get one.

Still Figuring out Where to Land?

Boutique Gyms

If you're deciding between Oromocto, the Fredericton Southside, Lincoln, New Maryland, or somewhere closer to base, that's a real conversation and I'm happy to have it. Every one of these areas suits a different family for different reasons, and I know them all.

Get my Fredericton + Oromocto Relocation Guide

I put together a full relocation guide for families moving to the Fredericton and CFB Gagetown area. It covers the neighbourhoods, what to expect from the buying process here, the relocation piece for military families (I'm BGRS and SIRVA registered), and the local details most people don't find out until they've already moved.

It's free, and it's the same information I walk my clients through.
